Ever since its establishment in April 1964, the institution has registered speedy progress and offers, at present, as many as ten Under-graduate and twenty three Post-graduate programmes, M.S.(by research) in all Engineering departments and Ph.D. programmes in all departments. The Institute has excellent faculty, well - equipped laboratories with facilities for advanced study and research and a modern Central Library.

The college is a deemed University meaning the degrees can be awarded by the college itself.

A Common Entrance Test designated as “Engineering, Agricultural & Medical Common Entrance Test” (EAMCET – 2009) will be conducted by JNT University on behalf of APSCHE for the academic year 2009-2010 for admission into the First Year of Professional Courses i.e. B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Pharm(M.P.C.) / B.Tech (Ag. Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Dairying) / B.Tech (FS&T) and B.Sc (CA & BM). This examination is the gateway for entry into various professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

b) A pass at 
Diploma examination or appearance at 3 rd year Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P. or its equivalent thereto. Diploma candidates are eligible to apply for B.E/B.Tech courses only.

In case of such students who appear for the entrance Test, pending result of their qualifying examination, their entry shall be subject to their securing a pass in the said qualifying examination.

Examination : The Entrance test is of 3 hours duration and the question paper consists of a total 160 questions comprising of a total of 80 questions in Mathematics, 40 questions in Physics and 40 questions in Chemistry.

Admission Procedure :

  • Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent courseshould submit “E” category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech (Dairying)/ B.Tech (FS&T) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm (MPC) courses. 

  • Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BHMS/ BNYS) and B. Pharm (Bi.P.C) courses. 

  • Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses in 4.1 and 4.2 have to submit “E” and “AM” category applications in a single cover only, so that the same test center can be allotted for both the tests. 

  • Applications form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- (this amount covers the cost of application, fees for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) in cash AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh.
