Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, India
Punjab Engineering College was earlier known as Maclagan Engineering College. The institute was earlier situated in Pakistan. After independence the college started its operation from the premises of Thomsan EngineeringCollege, now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee).
The institute shifted to its current location in Chandiagrh in January 1954.
The college has been regarded as the best technical college in India by National Foundation of Engineers in 1994. The college has been granted the status of Deemed University in 2004.
