Applications are invited on prescribed form for admission to MBBS course starting from 1st July 2009. The candidates shall be selected as per their merit in the Entrance Examination to be held on 19th April 2009 at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad & Mumbai. Those students who are going to appear in 10+2 Higher Secondary Board Examination in March / April 2009 are also eligible to appear in the competitive Entrance Examination.

Eligibility : 
The candidate must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Higher 
Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt. The candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

How to Apply : 
The Prospectus and Application Form with syllabus, question papers of Gandhian thought for the last 5 years, with model question papers of Physics Chemistry and Biology can be had from the office of the Dean by remitting a sum of Rs.1050/- (Rs.1000 + Rs.50 as postal charges) only by Money order in favour of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, District Wardha - 442102 or by paying Rs.1000/- in cash at the college counter. Candidates must write their full address in capital letters and phone number on the space for Communication and the space for sender’s address on the money order form.

Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/ Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in Universities/Colleges in West Bengal and B. Arch Course in Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University for the academic session 2009-2010, on the basis of a Joint Entrance Examination, to be conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S.(10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below :

B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

M.B.B.S/B.D.S : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

Pharmacy : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and vernacular or any other  fifth subject.

For MBBS and BDS courses : In addition to the aforesaid eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, W.B.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2009 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2009 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.

Age Restriction : Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above as on 31.12.2009. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 20 years as on 01.01.2009.

Residential Requirements : Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering / Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2008 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home addresses in the State of West Bengal.

Reservation : Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates are as per State Govt. Rules.

Venue of Examination : To be located in the State of West Bengal and Tripura.

Cost of Application materials : The Application Kit (i.e., prescribed printed application form along with Information Brochure and a printed envelope) will be available from different Branches of United Bank of India (as specified below) on payment of Rs.500/- (for E / M type Form) and Rs.600/- for C type.

Sale of Application form : : The Application Kit will be available from 28.11.2008 to 31.12.2008 at the following Branches of UNITED BANK OF INDIA : Old Court House St., College St, Sealdah, Hatibagan, Jadavpur, Behala, Mayukh Bhawan – Salt Lake, BESU Shibpur, Asansol, Durgapur City Centre, Burdwan (Main Branch), Katwa (Station Rd.), Serampore, Chinsurah, Arambag, Kalyani, Krishnagar, Barasat, Diamond Harbour, Kolaghat, Haldia, Kharagpur, Suri, Bolpur, Bankura, Purulia, Berhampur, Raiganj, Balurghat, Malda, Siliguri, Darjeeling (25, H.D. Lama Rd.) Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Agartala (Tripura) on all working days between banking hours on payment of requisite fee.

The Application Kit may also be obtained by Post from the Board’s Office on application with an additional fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) only. The total amount (i.e., cost of application form plus Rs.100/-) has to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Howrah/Kolkata. The last date for request by post for application-kit is 18.12.2008 and the last date for receipt of completed application form by Speed Post only is 14.01.2009. Request for application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the Board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non-receipt arising out of postal delay. The Application Kit may also be obtained from the Board’s Office only with payment of late fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) in addition to the actual cost of the form. The whole amount is to be paid through a Bank Draft to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah from 01.01.2009 to 07.01.2009. The application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.

How to Apply : : The duly filled in application form must be sent in the printed envelope received by the candidate within the Application Kit by SPEED POST only so as to reach the office of the Board by 14.01.2009. Submission of Application Form by hand or courier service will not be accepted.

All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination 2009 (AIPMT)

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2009 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal or other local authorities in India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Eligibility

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • He/She has completed 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission. Candidates born on or after 02-01-1993 are not Eligible.
  • The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
  • The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.
    One time exception
    Candidates who have already attained the age of 25 years and or availed three attempts or more will be permitted to appear in All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2009 as a last chance.

Qualifications

Candidates with Higher/Sr. Secondary Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Sr. Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

Minimum percentage of marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology is 50% in case of General Candidates and 40% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes. Candidates appearing at the qualifying examination prior to the competitive test or whose result is awaited can also apply and take up the test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS/Dental Course if the required percentage of marks is not met with at the time of first round of allotment by personal appearance.

The entrance examination consists of two papers - Preliminary and Final Examination. Those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear in the Final examination.

Sale of Information Bulletin and Application Form

The Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be had against cash payment of Rs.600/- for General Category and Rs. 350/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Category from the designated branches of the Canara/Syndicate Banks and Regional Offices of the Board located at Guwahati, Ajmer, Allahabad, Chandigarh and Chennai. The sale of Information Bulletin for AIPMT 2008 will start from 22-10-2008 to 01-12-2008.

Allotment of seat by personal appearance of the candidates will be made by the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi at Central Health Education Bureau, Kotla Road, New Delhi
