Admission Notice for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm/B.Harm(Ay.) Courses 2009  
The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India Competitive Written Test for admission to MBBS course (63 seats) in two stages : PMT-2009 SCREENING and PMT-2009 MAIN, and to BDS (28 seats)/ BAMS (57 seats) / B. Pharm. (28 seats) and B.Pharm.(Ay.) (Paid seats - 30) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2009 Screening.

PMT-2009 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 6th May 2009 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-2009 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 14th June 2009 at Varanasi Centre only

For BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm./B.Pharm(Ay.) courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2009 Screening.

Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; 
(i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm.(Ay.) - A minimum of 50% for general and 40% aggregate marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates; 
(ii) For B.Pharm. - A minimum of 60% marks for general & OBC and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

Distribution of Seats:

M.B.B.S.(63 seats) : General - 42; OBC - 7; SC - 9 and ST - 5; 
BDS and B.Pharm. (28 seats each): General - 19; OBC - 3; SC - 4 and ST - 2; 
BAMS (57 seats) : General - 36; Foreign National - 3; OBC - 6; SC - 8 and ST - 4; 
B.Pharm.(Ay.) (Paid seats, 30): General - 15; OBC - 8; SC - 5 and ST - 2.
Three percent seats are reserved for Physically challenged candidates in all the categories of the above courses.

Age : Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2009 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1993 and on or before 31st December, 1984 need not apply).

By Postal Channel : From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1100/- (Rs. 700/- for SC/ST candidates) of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm 6 cm size MUST also accompany it.

The envelop containing requisition for PMT application form should be super scribed “Request for Application for PMT-2009, BHU”.

Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted.

Note : 
(a) Separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form.
(b) MO/I.PO/Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, can be obtained by POST only and not in person. In case forms are not available at Indian Post Offices, the same can be obtained by post from Director’s Office upto 18th February, 2009.

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune - MBBS Admission 2009

Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All candidates admitted to AFMC, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs 15 lakhs at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by the government of India.

10 seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates who also have the above mentioned service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, education and qualifying the entrance examination, as per details given in the prospectus.

Special Concessions: The government will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidized messing, AC 3 Tier free railway warrant from college to home and back during vacation, a book subsidy of Rs 6000/- per student during entire training period uniform allowance in subsequent years and any other misc allowances as applicable.

Eligibility :

Candidates must have passed the XII standard/ pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/ Board or any other recognized Board/ University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in first attempt with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard.

BSc graduates with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) having passed the XII standard/pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above are also eligible to apply. 

NOTE 
(a) Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent ) upto 05 May 2008 also appear for the test provisionally. 
(b) The Following Categories of students are Not ELIGIBLE to apply:- 
(i) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths Separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social Studies in High School/Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalent 
(ii) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-degree (one years course) or Pre-professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination 
(iii) Candidates who have passed the Pre-professional or equivalent examination as private candidates.

All candidates should be medically fit as per laid down standards. 

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the course is not permitted. The college is fully residential both for boys and girls.
For BSc graduates, below 24 years is not permitted to join the course.

Age Limit : Must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations.

Prospectus and forms can also be obtained by post by sending a request to the Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Pune 411040 on payment of Rs 250/- per copy by Bank Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of Commandant, AFMC, Pune, along with full postal address of the candidates on two separate slips of paper (9 cms × 5 cms). The DD must bear the code number of the issuing bank. The candidate must write his/her address and name on the back of the DD.

The request must contain the candidates’ particulars and address and must be accompanied by a self-addressed envelope of 11 cms × 13 cms with postage stamp worth Rs 55. 

The candidate should enclose an application for obtaining prospectus and application form giving his/her particulars and address and enclose a self addressed envelope of 11″ x 13″ size and affix postage stamp of Rs. 55/-. Bank Drafts on any other banks other than nationalized banks, Money Orders, Cash or Postal Orders will not be accepted. Each request should be accompanied by a separate Demand Draft.

Admission Details :

Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and Rs. 400/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1.

The repeater and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2009 should also submit the demand draft for the above said amount to the respective schools / colleges. The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (i.e., Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by “SPEED POST”, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm X 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 3000/-.

The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly superscribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2009 BROCHURE” and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by “Speed Post” ONLY. The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope.

Important Note : 
A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous yearswill not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2009 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during the year.

The merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects, taken together, in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATAtaken in equal proportions.

Admission Details :

Only one application need be submitted for the entrance examinations for admission to one or more Medical, Agriculture,Veterinary, B. Pharm, Engineering and Architecture courses. 
Availability of Applications : The application form and Prospectus will be sold through selected Canara Bank branches in Kerala and outside the State. Application Forms will not be available by post or sold from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Candidates not claiming any reservation/belonging to the Non Keralite Category-II can apply in the prescribed format by downloading the application from the website cee-kerala.org. Such candidates should send the filled-in application along with a Demand Draft for Rs.700/-, drawn on any Nationalised Bank, in favour of the ‘Commissioner for Entrance Examinations’, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Cost of applications : Cost of Application is for General candidates - Rs. 700/- ; SC/ST candidates - Rs. 350. The amount towards cost of application is to be remitted in cash at the sales centre. The list of Canara Bank branches selected as sales centres is appended separately

Additional Remittance for Aptitude Test in Architecture: Candidates applying for the Aptitude Test in Architecture in addition to Medical/Engineering/B.Pharm entrance Examinations should submit along with their filled in application from, a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- (Rs. Three Hundred only), drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram. However, if the candidate is applying only for the Aptitude Test in Architecture no additional remittance is required.

Candidates, who choose ‘DUBAI’ as their centre for the Entrance Examination, should submit along with their filled in application form, a Demand Draft for Rs.7000/- (Rs. Seven Thousand only), drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Application Procedure : SC/ST candidates should apply in pink-coloured application forms and all other candidates should apply in the General application form. Candidates under ‘Other Eligible Communities (OEC)’ should apply in the General application form. Only one application need to be submitted for the entrance examinations for admission to one or more of Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, B.Pharm, Engineering and Architecture courses.

At the time of purchase of the application form, applicants will also be supplied with an OMR data sheet, Prospectus and an envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for entrance Examinations. Candidates should ensure that the Application number printed in the Application Form, OMR Data Sheet and on the cover are the same.

The filled in Application Form along with the OMR Data Sheet and other relevant documents to be submitted with the Application form is to be sent in the printed envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations supplied along with the application form, by Hand Delivery / Registered Post/ Speed Post and should reach there before the prescribed last date. Candidates are advised to apply well in advance. Completed Applications will be received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations .

Belated applications will be rejected. Candidates will not be allowed to include any information in the application form or to submit any Certificates/Documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Completed Applications will be received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on holidaysalso.
